About Avoca River Park
Avoca River EcoPark extends to over 200 Acres situated in the Vale of Avoca, yet only a couple of kilometres from the main Dublin/Rosslare N11 road network and Arklow town itself. The site is extremely well located inside the ring of the established Dublin servicing satellite commuter towns of Wicklow/Arklow/Gorey/Ferns etc.
The final leg of the continuous dual-carriageway/motorway road network connecting Belfast/Dublin and on to Clogh, 26Kms south of Arklow, is currently under construction.
The Local Area
The local area provides a huge array of hotels and leisure activities. Arklow has plethora of retail town centre shops and the brand new large Bridgewater Shopping Centre at the quayside. There is a wide variety of most affordable housing stock and is very well catered for with a well-established education and school infrastructure.
This part of Wicklow is famed for its dunes and golden sand beach resorts. Golfing is particularly well catered for with a host of fabulous links and parkland golf courses including Woodenbridge GC, Arklow Links and Pat Ruddy’s world renowned European Club. Other courses in the area include Courtown, Seafield and Macreddin.
Country pursuits including pheasant and deer hunting are readily at hand in the immediate locality, along with river fishing and sea angling. There is a fully serviced harbour and marina at Arklow plus the vibrant Arklow Sailing Club.. Hill walking and The Wicklow Way are all within striking distance in the hinterland behind Arklow with the Village of Avoca, the Meeting of the Waters, and valleys and mountains around Glenmalure and on to Glendalough. There is also the very active Wicklow Hunt which hosts regular local events. There are a number of popular local sporting clubs for GAA games, rugby and soccer.
